Dr. Carmit-Noa Shpigelman
Dr. Carmit-Noa Shpigelman is a senior lecturer at the Department of Community Mental Health, University of Haifa, Israel. She specializes in disability studies, mental health, rehabilitation, digital technologies and social technologies. Her research focuses on social and emotional aspects of living with a lifelong disability, including community participation, quality of life, and well-being of adults and older adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and psychiatric disabilities. She explores the participation of people with disabilities in various life domains e.g., employment, education, and social and romantic relationships, from individual and family perspectives. As a mother with a physical disability, Dr. Shpigelman is particularly interested in exploring the parenthood experience of adults with disabilities and their children.
